The “BonaRes Centre” is pleased to announce that an updated version of the “Long-Term Field Experiment (LTE) V140 Müncheberg” dataset has been published including an intensive revision and extension with more recent data (DOI: 10.20387/bonares-8fhj-r52g).

LTE are valuable sources for data series supporting agricultural and soil sciences answering current and future research questions. The “V140 Müncheberg” was established in 1963 at the experimental site of the present Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) about 50 km east of Berlin. It represents one of the few still active agricultural long-term field experiments on sandy soil.

The updated dataset publication contains data about, e.g., yield data, laboratory data of soil, plant samples, dates and application of sowing, fertilization and plant protection, and used plant varieties. An essential prerequisite for the scientific reuse of LTE data is the consistent use of national and international standards to describe the research. Accordingly, parameters such as crop and variety, methods and plant development stages have been standardized and the data set is annotated with keywords from the widely used vocabularies Agrovoc and GEMET.

The previous version was downloaded more than >95 times .With the 2021 update we have not only added new time slices, but also responded to the requests of our users and made the data schema more user-friendly. With this recent update, data from 1963 to 2012 are available and will be extended annually. If more recent data are needed, please contact the data author.
