From 23rd -28th April 2017, Vienna held the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2017 whereby BonaRes provided several contributions. Within a well-attended session on ‘Impact of agriculture on soil ecosystem services’, that had been organized by BonaRes scientists and international colleagues, a number of scientist from BonaRes projects presented their achievements after 2 years of BonaRes research.
Further, works of the BonaRes Data Centre were discussed with international colleagues in a session on metadata, data models and semantics. The BonaRes funding initiative was also introduced in the session: “Lighthouse“ examples, illustrating soil relevance for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). All in all, BonaRes research attracted interest and several new contacts could be made with colleagues from similar projects on national and European level.
