Within the framework of the BonaRes Conference 2018, the BonaRes data centre organized the 3. BonaRes data workshop in Müncheberg, on the 1st of March 2018. The aim of the workshop was to explain the workflow of data transfer to the data center and the description of metadata using the metadata editor. It focuses on practical exercises to describe your research data with metadata. In addition, the internal procedures of the data center and the processes after receiving the data were presented. Both aspects, providing data to the data centre as well as description with metadata are prerequisite for the provision of the BonaRes data DOI.
9 participants from 4 module A-projects and one long term field experiment (LTFE) joined the workshop (Foto below) starting with a short overview on the mode of operation of the BonaRes data centre with a focus on the data portal (upload of research data and description with metadata) and legal aspects (embargo time and licenses). During the second part of the workshop, participants were able to familiarize themselves with the functionalities of the metadata editor. They describe their own research data with metadata meeting the requirements of the BonaRes metadata schema with subsequent validation and transfer to the metadata database.
