The research programs of the BonaRes Module A projects cover a wide spectrum of different research activities producing various research data to be stored in the BonaRes Data Centre. These research data must be well described with metadata to promote reuse by other scientists. To further organize efficient cooperation in terms of research data management, between the Module A projects and the BonaRes Centre, the “1. BonaRes data workshop” was organized on the 11th of July 2017 in Berlin. The focus of this workshop was on the comfortable upload of research data to the BonaRes Data Centre on the one hand and the comprehensive description with metadata following the BonaRes Metadata schema on the other. Both aspects are prerequisite for the provision of the BonaRes DOI.
11 participants from 7 Module A-Projects joined the workshop starting with a short overview on the mode of operation of the BonaRes Data Centre with a focus on the Data Portal (upload of research data and description with metadata) and legal aspects (embargo time and licenses). During the second part of the workshop, participants were able to familiarize themselves with the functionalities of the metadata editor. They describe their own research data with metadata meeting the requirements of the BonaRes metadata schema with subsequent validation and transfer to the metadata database.
Anouncement: 2. BonaRes data workshop takes place on 7.9. 2017 in Göttingen following the DBG convention.
